The bible is (among other things) about God and his Son. The entire work always clearly distinguishes between the two. The New Testament alone refers to God and Jesus distinctly at least 700 times. Let's have a quick survey:
God and His Son:

for myself a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in my heart and
mind. I will firmly establish his priestly house, and they will minister before
my anointed one always" [This is a prophecy of the future High Priest]

Conclusion:
There is one God, the Father, YHWH, and one Lord, our Messiah Jesus. This Jesus was sent by the One God, obeys him, submits to his will, and one day will turn over the kingdom back to the Father God. No bible author is confused about this; all clearly distinguish between God and Jesus.
